It was a cold winter night here in Kelowna. It was about 230 am and I had gotten a call from a Tenant telling me that the baby in the suite below had been crying all day. I get up get dressed , grab my cell phone , called the tenant where the baby was crying, she did not pick up the phone. I proceeded to her suite. As I got to the second floor , I could hear the baby crying too. I knocked on the door , nothing , I pounded on the door nothing. I then got my master key out to go in. When I opened the door I knew that something was really wrong as I could smell death. I turned on the lights found the baby by the mothers body. picked up the baby and called 911 , as this girl lay dead. she had been dead in her suite for about two days. I cleaned up the baby got him some food.
She was a call girl and had over dosed on heroin. Welfair took the baby as no one came to claim him. I found it so sad that this girl , although her life style was not great , nobody came to claim the baby or her things. I gave almost every thing to big brothers and sisters. I did keep her hand made Christmas ornament's for the Christmas tree. I still use those ornament every year and always think about her and her son.

The Managers have arived
So me and Danny decided to leave the coast for a job in Kelowna , I mean really who would not want to live in this beautiful city? At the time I was working in a plastic factory , making good coin and benefits. Danny was managing a building in surrey at the time.
When we got here there was 67 vacancies and they all needed extreme work to all of them. Mission View is 152 unit complex , all are 2 bedrooms there is four buildings. It was for all intense purpose the ghetto. When we took a look around we wounder why did we leave our good jobs for this hell hole?? . I took us about 5 years to clean it up and fill it up. the building were very run down for only beaning 10 years old. It was a lot of hard work, and now we have been here 18 years I just love it.
When we got here August 25 , we had to to had out a shit load of evictions , for partying and non payments on rent.
Funny / gross story , in one of my lobby's I kept finding human feces in the coman area garbage can (for flyer's and junk mail). Who every was doing it was wiping there butts with the returned mail.I found it weird cause everyone had there own bathrooms here, and we had a hot tub and sauna , with full bathrooms , so why was this here? I cleaned up the mess. Next day same thing , so I took away the garbage can.
Well about a week later we had a move out /eviction, and in their suite they had all the heat just cranked up full, it was end of august and very hot. went thru the suite , it had holes all thru it and pee all over floors and carpets. got to the bathroom they had put news paper in the bottom of the bowl and had been crapping in to the plugged toilet , it was over flowing with crap!! the tub was filled with puke , I mean full it was one of the sickest things I had come across. So I now know who was crapping in my lobby.
Nice way to break in the new managers lol we had only been hear about nine days .....so the fun beings .....

The Random Naked Girl
The night was a quiet , and cold winter is still here in the wee hours. I got a call at about 230 am from a Tenant. This call was a new one to me. She said that she was in bed and her Boyfriend was gaming out in the living room. I lady came into her bedroom, the tenant asked her why are you in my bedroom, she said I'm coming to bed. The tenant jumps out of her bed,runs to the living room this stranger walks into the living room she had only a bra on. She come in to the living room sits down, asks what is going on?? The tenant's ask her to leave and proceeded to call 911. the girl asks the tenant to walk her home, she knows what suite she came from.The tenant gives the girl some close and walks her out of her suite. They get out into the coman area , the girl here's a car wigs out takes off into the cold night air.
We never did find out who or what or where she came from. And note to all KEEP your door locked!!

UPDATE: Turns out that the girl , was raped given ghb drug, she had no memories of the night , and was horrified when I filled her in. I had found her close in the parking lot the next day, I asked her to report this , but I don't think she will. I asked her if she was on birth control , she said no. I told her to go get checked out by a doctor. I would be a good thing to take the morning after pill as she could be at risk of pregnancy or STDS ...... time will tell.

The escaped mental patient
Alright so this day started off like any other day.Summer 2011, I had just got the parrot up and out for her cage, feed her and gave her fresh water. I was looking out my window , it was a beautiful sunny day. It was about 830 am I seen the man who looked like he did not belong here wandering thru the parking lot.
I go out greet the man and ask him is he lost? he just looked out of place. He get kinda agitated with me said why do I ask that? I then ask him if he is coming to visit someone here? he said no. I tell him that this is privet property and he needs to leave.Then he starts walking into the complex, I let him know that out is this way , behind you. He leaves the complex by walking out backwards keeping his eyes on me the whole time. Now I really think that this guy is a crackhead , he was just whacked right out of his mind.
I get a call from a tenant saying that someone is in the attic and just fell thru the roof on the third floor. I go racing out to see what is going on. Sure enough its the same guy I had kicked off the property earlier that day. I'm already on the phone with 911 at this point.He is now out side the building covered in fibreglass and plaster. I ask him what were you doing in my attic? he said he was working up there , the manager had let him in there, and he was going to sue the complex. I inform him I am the manager and I never let him up there , but now he is acting so crazy wild and sketchy, I told him to relax help is on route. He panics and off starts the foot chase. I gave 911 dispatch route of hi travel and what he looked like.
The RCMP did pick him up about an hour later, Looks like he was living in the attic for several days .I now have 5 body size holes in my ceiling on the third floor, that we need to fix up.
I ask the RCMP member who is going to pay for the damages , as we now who did it, well turns out that this guy was missing from Penticton mental hospital, he was not a crackhead , he had been off his meds for 10 day and was in complete psychosis (out of his mind) the cop said it will be hard to charge this too him as he was an escapee, he did over two grand in damage. crazy times

The Junkie that OD
OK , so here was a very nice summer day back in 2009. I had given one of my tenants a 30 eviction for drugs ( we was junkie) he had many crack heads coming and going from his suite . I'm so not down with the crack heads , they bring a criminal element where every they rome.
So the said tenant did not have rent on the first after he had received his 30 day notice, I then gave him a 10 day notice for non payment. I was happy cause this means he would be vacating the suite sooner that the end of the month. on the 10th day , when he was to move out for , he shows up at my office with two butcher knives and a cheque for the rent. I ask him why do you need to pack these two knives with you? He said he need to protect him self, I told him no one is going to get you here in my office to please put down the knives. I also told him the because the five days had pass to pay the rent I could only accept cash for this last month from him. He said the cheque was good and waved around the knives. I asked him to leave or he would leave me no choice but to phone the RCMP. He did leave.
That night around 1130 pm I get a call from the RCMP asking me to come to the tenants suite , as they had a random call saying that he was dead. I get up and get dressed and go over to the suite. I let them in and left. They call me back at 130 am and ask me to identify the body, I'm like oh ok , I go over enter the suite and sure enough its my tenant dead eye wide open.
Like I said earlier it was a hot summer day, the smell will be something will never forget. His eye were wide open , he was gone. Found out days later that he was killed for his meds/ crack and truck.He had been injected with an air filled needle , had a stroke. I gave make and model of the vehicle to the RCMP, they found the killer and the truck that day.

Eviction Day
Hi everyone!
So today was a very slow day at the Barracks. I did give out and eviction to a tenant who friends scale the outside of the building to get there suite. Repeatedly late on rent and noisy from 2am till 4pm almost nightly. I'm all about live and let live , but when others are complaining I have to react. Talked to the tenant , really do like this kid , but he is just not fitting into the programme around here. Set a side he is a chronic dope smoker. I found that at least 50% of my tenants smoke pot, seems to be the in thing here in Kelowna. I so don't want to kick him out because of that. But the friends he has coming and going are not good for us here. They hork ( spit) on walls and doors in my coman area, we have to clean that crap up...I have a squeegee stomach and its hard for me to clean up body fluids without gagging. They throw there fast food wrappers just on the floors...pigs I tell you what.
The Tenant seemed OK with the 30 day notice , he will have to leave for Feb 29th we will see how the next couple of weeks go.
I hate to have the police coming to my buildings for anything. I to be quite honest have never had much help from them. I will tell tails from the past to let you see why I'm so negative on the RCMP around here. I have for the most part of working and living here have always tryed to work things out with the tenants with out the police help.
I did tell the the tenants who complained if it gets crazy to call the cops , I'm sick of dealing with them and me telling them to shut up is not working so its time to move on!
